Wings of Change: Central Vietnam’s Golf Boom Takes Off with Global Airlift
New international routes spark a golden era for golf tourism from Danang to Dubai and beyond
Seoul, Korea - Golf in Central Vietnam is enjoying a lift-off of global proportions, as a flurry of new international air links — led by Emirates’ direct connection between Dubai and Danang — positions the region as Asia’s next great golf tourism hub.
The Vietnam Golf Coast (VGC), home to award-winning courses by legends like Sir Nick Faldo, Luke Donald and Colin Montgomerie, is now connected to the world like never before. Four weekly flights between Danang and Dubai begin on 2 June, offering seamless access to more than 260 destinations via one of the world’s most connected airports.
“This is a game-changer,” said Stephen Banks, Director of Golf at Laguna Golf Lang Co. “From emerald fairways carved between rice paddies to the South China Sea, our courses are ready for the world. Now, the world can get here.”
And it’s not just Emirates. Vietnam Airlines resumes flights to Osaka in July and Bangkok already in operation, while Air Premia, Myanmar Airways, Aero K and Air Astana are weaving new threads in the region’s rapidly growing air network.
Simon Mees of Ba Na Hills Golf Club called the Emirates link “a leap forward,” one that will expose the club’s championship layout and Central Vietnam’s cultural riches to entirely new audiences.
From the lantern-lit lanes of Hoi An to the soaring Golden Bridge above Ba Na Hills, the region blends world-class golf with UNESCO heritage and five-star luxury — a combination now within easy reach of golfers from Europe, North America and Asia.
“Danang has never been more accessible,” said Le Vo Hoang Van of Montgomerie Links. “This marks a new chapter in our journey to become one of the world’s premier golf destinations.”
As bookings rise and global curiosity grows, Central Vietnam is not just flying high — it’s soaring into a bold new era of fairways, festivals and unforgettable adventure.
