Westwood and Im to Headline SJM Macao Open 2025
Former world number one joins Korean star as Macao welcomes a world-class field
Las Vegas - Lee Westwood and Sungjae Im will spearhead a star-studded line-up at the SJM Macao Open 2025, staged from 16–19 October at Macau Golf & Country Club with a prize purse of USD 1 million.
Westwood, who claimed victory in Macao in 1999, returns with fond memories, while Im makes his debut following two PGA Tour wins and three Presidents Cup appearances. Defending champion Rattanon Wannasrichan also returns to attempt back-to-back titles.
“I am thrilled to be playing at the SJM Macao Open this October. I have fond memories from my win here 26 years ago,” said Westwood. Im added: “I cannot wait to make my first trip to Macao a successful and enjoyable one.”
The Macao Open, launched in 1998, has grown into a signature stop on the Asian Tour. Local hopes will rest with 22-year-old Kelvin Si Ngai, alongside veterans such as Liang Wenchong, who has praised both the course and the city’s hospitality.
Wannasrichan, Westwood, Im and the 144-strong field will vie for the coveted trophy, while organisers highlight the event’s role in showcasing Macao as a global centre for sport and tourism.
