Trio set for Bahrain return
Proven winners and rising form converge at Royal Golf Club
Three-time Major Champion Pádraig Harrington, Race to Dubai leader Jayden Schaper and former champion Dylan Frittelli are confirmed for the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship from January 29 to February 1 at Royal Golf Club in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The trio will join 2025 Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Martin Couvra for the third edition of the tournament, staged under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, as the DP World Tour’s International Swing continues in the Middle East.
Harrington returns for a second appearance after finishing five under par and tied 38th last year, with the World Golf Hall of Fame inductee continuing to compete at the highest level after adding two Senior Major championships in 2025. “Having really enjoyed last year’s tournament, I’m looking forward to returning to Royal Golf Club later this month,” said Harrington.
Schaper arrives as the current leader of the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World, following consecutive play-off victories at the Alfred Dunhill Championship and AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open to open the 2026 season. “I’m excited to be coming back to Bahrain and joining the field for this special event,” he said.
Frittelli, winner of the 2024 edition after closing with three birdies in his final six holes, is equally eager to return to a venue that delivered his third DP World Tour title. “Bahrain will always hold a special place in my heart,” he said, with fans again set to enjoy free general admission and a full programme of on-site entertainment alongside the golf.
