Tom Kim re-enters World Top 30 after T-5 finish at Wyndham Championship
South Korean star continues resurgence to reach 26th in FedExCup standings heading into PGA Tour Playoffs
Paju, Korea - South Korea’s Tom Kim (Kim Joo-hyung) has returned to the world’s top 30 for the first time in 17 months following a tied-fifth finish at the Wyndham Championship.
In the latest Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) released on Monday, the 24-year-old climbed three places to World No. 30.
Kim closed with an even-par 70 in the final round at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, finishing at 15-under-par 265 to share fifth place. The performance marked his fourth top-10 finish of the PGA Tour season.
The ascension marks Kim’s first appearance inside the top 30 since March 2025. Having endured a protracted slump that saw his ranking slide to a low of 150th following the Charles Schwab Challenge in June, Kim has staged a remarkable summer turnaround. A solo third-place finish at the U.S. Open initiated his rebound, followed by a victory at the Genesis Scottish Open that snapped a 33-month winless drought.
With the PGA Tour regular season now concluded, Kim enters the FedExCup Playoffs positioned 26th in the standings, safely securing his spot in the 70-player field for the FedEx St. Jude Championship with a strong outlook toward reaching the season-ending TOUR Championship for the top 30 players.
Among other South Korean players, Si Woo Kim held steady as the highest-ranked Korean at World No. 18. Sungjae Im, who finished tied for 14th at 12-under 268 at Sedgefield, moved up two spots to World No. 73.
The top five in the world rankings remained unchanged, led by World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, followed by Rory McIlroy, Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Russell Henley. Wyndham Championship winner Michael Brennan leaped from 58th to 35th after capturing his second PGA Tour title.
