The Patch Sets a Date for a Return
Augusta’s municipal course reopens with affordable golf and a community-first mission
Augusta Municipal Golf Course, known locally as The Patch, will reopen fully for public play on April 15, 2026, following a 16-month renovation that signals a renewed commitment to accessible golf in the city.
A soft opening will begin in mid-March with limited play for community groups, including regular patrons and high school teams, before private hospitality use during the week of the Masters Tournament. Full public access will follow in April.
The renovation includes a redesigned 18-hole course led by Tom Fazio and Beau Welling, alongside a new nine-hole short course, The Loop at The Patch, designed by Tiger Woods and his firm, TGR Design. Both layouts are intended to welcome golfers of all abilities and support long-term engagement with the game.
Affordability remains central to the project. Local residents will pay $25 for 18 holes when walking from Monday through Thursday and $35 from Friday through Sunday, while The Loop at The Patch will be priced at $15. A detailed pricing structure covering residents, non-residents and various eligibility groups is available online.
Practice facilities span 17 acres and include a Trackman Range with 20 covered bays. A 12-hole putting course will be open free of charge to the public, offering an informal entry point to the game.
The First Tee of Augusta will resume its activities at the site on May 1, continuing the course’s role in youth development. The Patch will be operated by Bobby Jones Links, which is recruiting staff across golf operations, retail and hospitality as preparations continue for a phased return to full capacity during the summer months.
