The International Series Announces Historic Debut in Japan
8-11 May at Caledonian Golf Club in Chiba
Chiba, Japan – 12 March 2025 – The International Series continues its global expansion with the announcement of International Series Japan, marking LIV Golf’s first-ever tournament in the country.
The US$2 million event will take place from 8-11 May at Caledonian Golf Club in Chiba, following LIV Golf Korea in Incheon. This tournament strengthens The International Series’ position as a key platform in the Asian Tour and offers players a potential pathway to the LIV Golf League.
A Global Field Set to Compete
The 156-player field will feature:
A strong Asian Tour contingent
Leading Japanese golfers
International players aiming for LIV Golf League status
Established LIV Golf stars
Among the LIV Golf players confirmed for International Series Japan is Harold Varner III of 4Aces GC. The 2023 LIV Golf Washington DC champion and 2022 PIF Saudi International winner expressed his enthusiasm for the event.
“The International Series offers great opportunities to LIV golfers to compete in incredible destinations beyond LIV Golf League events. Japan is a place I’ve always wanted to visit, so I’m excited for the opportunity and can’t wait to tee it up,” said Varner.
Lucas Herbert, representing Ripper GC, is also set to compete. The Australian, who finished third at International Series Macau last season, highlighted the significance of competing in Japan.
“As an Australian, I love playing events in Asia, and The International Series provides a lot of opportunity to play in different territories in the region. Japan is going to be incredible, and I’m looking forward to the experience both on and off the course,” he said.
Expanding the International Series Footprint
International Series Japan will be the third of 10 LIV Golf-backed events on the 2025 Asian Tour calendar. Each tournament underscores The International Series’ mission to expand golf’s global reach.
The 2025 season has already seen two landmark events:
International Series India presented by DLF (30 Jan – 2 Feb): Launched the fourth season of The International Series with record attendance at DLF Golf and Country Club.
International Series Macau presented by Wynn (20-23 March): Included in The Open Qualifying Series, offering three spots at The 153rd Open at Royal Portrush in July.
