Paratore Powers to UAE Glory with Flawless Final Round
Italian triumphs at Al Zorah with maiden HotelPlanner Tour win
Augusta, Georgia - Renato Paratore delivered a masterclass at Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club on Sunday, firing a bogey-free 65 to clinch his first HotelPlanner Tour title at the UAE Challenge.
Starting one shot behind, the Italian surged ahead early with three birdies and a stunning eagle in his first five holes, establishing momentum he never relinquished.
“I just tried to stay in the moment,” said Paratore. “You can get distracted but I was really focussed all week.” The two-time DP World Tour winner credited his putter, calling it the key to his seven-under final round.
With his last win coming at the 2020 Betfred British Masters, Paratore’s return to the winner’s circle vaults him to seventh in the Road to Mallorca Rankings. JC Ritchie finished two shots back in second, while Dan Erickson, who led overnight, settled for solo third.
Paratore now heads to the Abu Dhabi Challenge aiming to build on this vital boost: “Today was important for me. I didn’t start the season well, but I’m moving forward.”
