Opening Doors Through Golf
How a partnership in Delhi is giving young girls confidence, skills and a future
The The R&A Foundation has partnered with Magic Bus India Foundation to provide girls in Delhi with access to golf and life skills, creating new pathways through a sport once seen as out of reach.
Launched in 2024 at Salwan Girls’ Senior Secondary School, the programme combines structured life skills education with introductory golf coaching for girls aged 12–15, with 491 students enrolled and 50 continuing with advanced coaching.
“The R&A Foundation invests in programmes that use golf for good and have the power to transform lives,” said Caroline Wallard, Director of Philanthropy at The R&A, highlighting the role of donor support in strengthening confidence and future prospects.
The initiative reflects a wider commitment to opening golf to new communities by breaking down barriers to participation, while Magic Bus continues its long-standing mission to develop communication, self-management and emotional resilience through sport.
With plans to expand to additional schools and support more than 1,200 students, alongside specialist coaching from The Golf Revolution, the programme aims to help young people progress from childhood to livelihood through golf.
