MINJEE AND MAJA HEADLINE STAR-STUDDED FIELD AT DUNDONALD
Links, Legacy, and the Final Tune-Up Before the AIG Women’s Open
Las Vegas - Major champions Minjee Lee and Maja Stark will return to Dundonald Links next month to lead a world-class field at the 2025 ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open, taking place from July 24–27.
Lee, currently World No.6, arrives with fresh momentum after her dominant three-shot victory at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship — her third major title. A consistent performer in Scotland, she’s had seven top-20 finishes at this event and was runner-up in 2018. “Dundonald is always a test,” Lee said. “Winning the PGA gave me confidence — and I hope to carry that into this week.”
Stark, the new face of Swedish golf, recently captured her maiden major at the U.S. Women’s Open, defeating World No.1 Nelly Korda and Japan’s Rio Takeda. Now ranked No.8, the 25-year-old will be looking to improve on her 2023 T4 finish at Dundonald. “I love links golf,” Stark said. “It’s gritty, creative, and pushes you to think. I’m eager to see what I can do this time.”
The field includes 13 major winners with 21 titles between them. Among them are 2022 champion Ayaka Furue, 2018 winner Ariya Jutanugarn, and recent U.S. Open champion Allisen Corpuz. Three-time major champion Anna Nordqvist, the 2021 AIG Women’s Open winner, also returns — as does Hyo Joo Kim, ranked No.9 in the world. It’s no coincidence that each of the last four AIG Women’s Open champions teed up at this event the week prior, underscoring its importance as a final test.
This marks the second year of ISPS HANDA’s title sponsorship and the fourth consecutive staging at Dundonald, a venue that has undergone a multi-million pound transformation by owners Darwin Escapes. With support from the Scottish Government and VisitScotland, the tournament continues to be a cornerstone of women’s golf in the UK.
