Lee's Major Masterclass Under Texas Skies
Third major title proves sweetest as Minjee Lee masters Fields Ranch East
Seoul, Korea - Minjee Lee conquered the formidable Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco, sealing her third major title at the 2025 KPMG Women's PGA Championship with a final round 72, finishing three shots ahead of Austin Kim and Chanettee Wannasaen.
The victory in Texas did not come easily. Unlike her earlier triumphs at the 2021 Amundi Evian Championship and the 2022 U.S. Women's Open at Pine Needles, Lee had to battle swirling winds, firm fairways, and a three-shot deficit to Jeeno Thitikul heading into the third round.
"I had to really trust myself," Lee said. "It was about staying patient and sticking to my plan. When conditions are this tough, it's as much about your mindset as your swing."
Fields Ranch East bared its teeth all week, demanding precision and mental fortitude. Lee stood apart with a bogey-free third round and led the field in Strokes Gained: Total and Putting, illustrating both her resilience and touch on unforgiving greens.
While her final round lacked fireworks, it showcased championship composure. Lee carefully navigated the treacherous closing holes, ensuring nothing was given away. In the end, this victory might sit sweetest of all for Lee — not for the margin, but for the mettle required to win.
