Hovland to Make South African Debut at Nedbank Golf Challenge
Norwegian star embraces tradition in event staged in honour of Gary Player
Las Vegas - Viktor Hovland will tee it up in South Africa for the first time when he makes his Nedbank Golf Challenge debut at the Gary Player Country Club from December 4–7.
The Norwegian, 27, arrives fresh from his third straight Ryder Cup appearance at Bethpage Black, where he helped Europe defend the trophy two years after he and Ludvig Åberg produced a record 9&7 foursomes victory over Scottie Scheffler and Brooks Koepka.
“I’m excited to tee it up at the Nedbank Golf Challenge for the first time this December,” Hovland said. “It’s an event that has a lot of history, a great list of winners and, of course, in honour of Gary Player, so I’m sure it will be a great week.”
Hovland, ranked World No. 11 and the 2023 FedExCup champion, became the first player from Norway to win on both the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour and collected his 11th worldwide title at the Valspar Championship in March.
Fans at Sun City will again be treated to the popular Hospitali-TEE Lounge, which offers a premium viewing experience with access to the course, an open bar and buffet, entertainment, and a seat on the VIP grandstand behind the 18th green.
