Chevron Championship Raises the Stakes in Houston
Major season opens with record purse and player-first focus that reflects growing stature of women’s golf
Paju, Korea - The Chevron Championship will be played from April 23-26 at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston with a $9 million purse, marking a significant increase for the LPGA Tour’s first major of 2026.
The new figure represents a rise of nearly $6 million since 2022 and is $1 million higher than last year, underlining continued investment in the women’s game and its elite competitors.
“At Chevron, we are proud to continue elevating women’s golf by increasing the Tournament purse to $9 million and making this a special event for players,” said Laura Lane, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer for Chevron Corporation.
Beyond prize money, the championship provides a $10,000 stipend for players who miss the cut, courtesy cars, enhanced dining and exclusive benefits for past champions, including accommodation and additional amenities.
The winner will earn $1,350,000 along with the Dinah Shore Trophy and traditional custom western boots, as the championship continues to blend heritage with modern growth in women’s golf.
