Paju, Korea - Switzerland’s Caroline Sturdza heads into this week’s Lavaux Ladies Open (September 16–18) targeting her second title of the 2026 LET Access Series (LETAS) season at a course she considers second home.
The Geneva native made a triumphant professional debut in April by capturing the season-opening Madaëf Golfs Ladies Open in Morocco. Returning to Golf de Lavaux, Sturdza brings extensive local knowledge from her junior and amateur days as she looks to build on a strong rookie campaign.
“It is definitely special,” Sturdza said. “I’ve played this course so many times as a junior, and now as a professional, it means a lot. It’s a course where I feel so comfortable it almost feels like my home course. My goal is to keep focusing on the process and learnings every week, whether results are good or bad.”
Currently eighth in the LETAS Order of Merit, Sturdza sits just outside the top seven threshold that guarantees automatic promotion to the Ladies European Tour (LET) for the 2027 season, with six tournaments remaining on the schedule.
A former Stanford University standout who majored in Science, Technology, and Society with a focus on AI and data science, Sturdza briefly considered a corporate path following an internship at private equity firm KKR before committing fully to her professional golf ambitions.
“I’ve always wanted to turn professional and use golf to test myself,” Sturdza added. “The goal is to earn my LET card, have a solid season, and eventually take on LPGA Q-School step by step.”
Sturdza will tee off her opening round from the 10th tee at 1:45 p.m. local time alongside France’s Lucie Malchirand and Austria’s Isabella Holpfer.
