Brian Rolapp Named New CEO as PGA TOUR Charts Bold New Future
NFL Veteran Brings Vision and Expertise to Lead Golf's Premier Global Stage
Seoul, Korea - The PGA TOUR has announced Brian Rolapp as its next Chief Executive Officer, ushering in a new chapter for golf's most prestigious global tour. Rolapp, who brings more than two decades of experience from the National Football League, will assume his new role later this summer.
The appointment comes following a comprehensive search led by the PGA TOUR CEO Search Committee, which included Arthur M. Blank, Tiger Woods, Adam Scott, Jay Monahan, Joe Gorder and Sam Kennedy. Rolapp was unanimously recommended as the ideal candidate to guide the TOUR's next phase of growth.
"I’m honored to join the PGA TOUR at such a pivotal time," said Rolapp. "The TOUR represents the highest level of competition, integrity, and global opportunity in the game of golf. I’m ready to get to work alongside our players, partners, and leadership team to build lasting value and deliver an even more dynamic future for the sport and our fans."
Commissioner Jay Monahan, who informed the Boards last year of his intention to step down at the end of 2026, will transition day-to-day duties to Rolapp while continuing to serve on the PGA TOUR Policy Board and PGA TOUR Enterprises Board through the end of his contract.
"We’ve found exactly the right leader in Brian Rolapp," said Monahan. "His arrival strengthens our leadership team and reflects our shared commitment to the TOUR's continued evolution. With Brian's expertise and vision, I’m more confident than ever in the future we’re building."
Rolapp's extensive NFL experience includes his role as Chief Media and Business Officer, where he oversaw the league’s commercial enterprises, including media rights, sponsorships, and consumer products. He was instrumental in securing landmark media deals with Amazon, Netflix, YouTube and traditional networks, while launching innovative platforms like NFL+.
Tiger Woods, who played an active role on the Search Committee, echoed the sentiment: "Brian’s appointment is a win for players and fans. He brings a fresh perspective from his experience in the NFL and a deep respect for our game. I’m excited about what’s ahead."
Over the past two years, the PGA TOUR has undergone significant transformation, securing a $1.5 billion investment, reshaping its competitive schedule, launching new player equity programs, and expanding fan engagement initiatives. Rolapp now steps in to build on this momentum.
"This appointment reflects the unity and strategic alignment across our governance structure," said Joe Gorder, Chairman of the PGA TOUR Policy Board and Enterprises Board. "With Brian's leadership, we move forward with clarity, purpose, and momentum."
Rolapp, a graduate of Brigham Young University and Harvard Business School, is widely recognized as one of the most accomplished executives in sports, earning a place in the Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 Hall of Fame. As he prepares to take the helm, the PGA TOUR embarks on a bold new era of global growth and innovation.
