Amgen Irish Open Raises Over €170,000 for Make-A-Wish Ireland
Generosity on and off the course turns birdies into life-changing wishes
Las Vegas - Over €170,000 was raised for Make-A-Wish® Ireland during the 2025 Amgen Irish Open at the K Club, with the Birdies for Wishes initiative alone generating €82,200.
Make-A-Wish Ireland served as the tournament’s official Charity Partner for a fourth consecutive year. Across five days, players, fans and organisers united to support children living with life-threatening medical conditions, with 248 birdies and 26 eagles made on the Palmer North Course’s closing hole triggering donations.
Amgen and the DP World Tour pledged €300 for every birdie or better, while ambassadors Pádraig Harrington, Shane Lowry and Séamus Power contributed €13,000 of their own by donating for each birdie and eagle they recorded. “The incredible generosity shown by players, fans and our partners has helped raise significant funds that will make a very real difference,” said Paul Greene, VP, Site Operations, Amgen.
Further fundraising came from cash and contactless donations, the Mega-Putt Challenge in the Championship Village, a Walk for Wishes by Amgen staff, and a Super Saturday initiative where €2 was donated for every spectator wearing green. Ahead of the event, a four-ball auction also added to the total.
Make-A-Wish Ireland’s impact was felt directly on site when Lowry helped grant 11-year-old Dáire Coyle’s wish, creating a memory his family will cherish. “Having Shane Lowry grant Dáire’s wish here at the K Club is a moment Dáire and his family will treasure forever,” said Susan McQuaid O’Dwyer, CEO of Make-A-Wish Ireland.
Tournament Director Paul Gillmon praised the outcome: “The return of the Amgen Irish Open to the K Club was an overwhelming success and we are delighted to see a significant amount of money raised for Make-A-Wish Ireland.”
