Paju, Korea - The Asian Tour will make its return to Vietnam next spring for the inaugural Vietnam Golf Championship, set to take place from April 1 to 4, 2027, at Long Thanh Golf Club in Ho Chi Minh City.

Offering a US$500,000 prize purse, the tournament marks the Asian Tour’s first visit to the country since 2023, when Zimbabwe’s Kieran Vincent captured the International Series Vietnam title. Promoted by VFXG, the event builds upon the organization’s nine-year history of staging charity golf tournaments across the region.

Founded in 2012 by marketing strategist Smile Xu, Miles Group has spent over a decade delivering sports marketing services across Asia for global golf entities, including Major Championships, the LPGA Tour, and the United States Golf Association (USGA). In his 2025 rookie season, Jin logged two runner-up finishes on the China Tour and posted a top-20 finish in his DP World Tour debut.

Paju, Korea - The PGA of America announced on Wednesday the U.S. Team selection criteria for the 2027 Ryder Cup, establishing a streamlined 31-event qualification calendar starting in January 2027.

Under the new system approved by U.S. Captain Jim Furyk, points will be awarded across 31 official PGA Tour and Major events beginning at The American Express (January 18–24, 2027) and concluding at the BMW Championship (August 16–22, 2027). The top six eligible players on the final U.S. Ryder Cup points list will earn automatic spots on the team. Furyk will select his six Captain’s picks during the week of August 30 following the conclusion of the TOUR Championship.

“I have worked diligently with our team and am pleased to implement a new qualifying process for the 2027 U.S. Ryder Cup Team,” said Furyk. “We possess an exceptional mix of veterans and rising stars, and this system will help us identify the strongest players in September 2027. The qualifying schedule spans the four Major Championships, THE PLAYERS Championship, eight PGA Tour Signature events, two FedExCup Playoff events, and 16 full-field regular season tournaments. Opposite-field PGA Tour events will not offer qualifying points.

Points allocation for tournament winners is structured as follows:

• Major Championships: 3,000 points (The Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open, The Open Championship)

• THE PLAYERS Championship: 2,850 points

• PGA Tour Signature & Playoff Events: 2,250 points (8 Signature events plus FedEx St. Jude Championship and BMW Championship)

• PGA Tour Full-Field Events: 1,500 points (Starting with The American Express)

Every eligible American player making the cut and finishing within the official purse distribution in qualifying events will earn a proportional percentage of available points based on their final finish position.

Lancashire, England - Japan’s Shiho Kuwaki captured her maiden Major championship on Sunday, defeating Germany’s Esther Henseleit on the second playoff hole to win the landmark 50th edition of the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes.

The 23-year-old, who remained near the top of the leaderboard all week with rounds of 66, 70, and 73, delivered a composed final-round one-under-par 70 to set the clubhouse target at five-under 279. After Henseleit matched her total with a clutch birdie on the 72nd hole, both players returned to the 18th, exchanging pars on the first extra hole.

On the second playoff hole, Kuwaki found the fairway and green in regulation, while Henseleit drove into gorse off the tee and was unable to save par.
